Riding.
A curious yet fun aspect in DMO is the chance to Ride your Digimon in order to use it as a faster way to move around ingame than just walking with your Tamer on foot.
In order to be able to Ride your Digimon, you have to remember some things before you try it. Not all Digimon are rideable, and you need whether a number of Rider Wings or Mode Selectors in order to Ride your Digimon (if possible).
To try and Ride your Digimon, you first need to know which items you can use from the two available ones. Generally, Champion Digimon can be ridden with the use of a single Rider Wing, while Mega Digimon may need more of them, or only with the use of one or more Mode Selectors.
So, how do we get items to Ride our Digimon? I'll tell you right away.
Rider Wings can be bought from NPCs around the game, normally from Megumi at Yokohama Village map (being worth 500Megas each).
Mode Selectors are trickier to obtain as they aren't for sale at NPC shops. You can only get them via Cash Shop (worth 18PSilk/Silk/Crown each unit), as a prize from game Events, or from other players ingame (worth many Teras depending on the seller's personality and objectives).
In order to know if a Digimon is rideable, you have to check the Digimon's information window (X key from keyboard, D icon from slot bar). If you see one or more "evolution" lines under your Digimon's digivolution list when clicking the arrow on the right of the window, it means you can Ride the Digimon that are shown in those "lines".
Generally Champion or Mega Digimon can be ridden, except for Dobermon and Drimogemon (both being Champion Digimon at their 1st stage), which can be ridden right away without needing to digivolve any further and thus not consuming DS or Digisoul to do so.
Some Burst Mode or BM Digimon can also be ridden, although those don't need Rider Wings nor Mode Selectors for it, as they actually need Digimon-specific items in order to unlock their Ride Mode.
Also, some Mega Digimon may need their own Ride items as well. Beelzemon's Ride Mode needs his motorbike, the Behemoth, in order to be unlocked. Whilst Gallantmon/Dukemon's Ride Mode needs his airship, the Grani, to unlock it.
To get any Digimon-specific Ride item, there are few ways to do so:
1-From the Cash Shop, using PSilk/Silk/Crown.
2-From other players, paying Teras.
3-From game Events, as prizes.
The advantages of Ride Mode include the increase of movement speed compared to the Tamer's default speed, and the avoidance of speed loss due to the Tamer's fatigue level getting too high while being in wild Digimon area.
Also remember that you can only Ride your Digimon while not in battle, as being attacked or attacking other Digimon will force your Tamer out of Ride Mode. So try not to fight while riding to avoid being thrown out of your Ride.
That's all you'll need to know about Riding. I hope this post's information had been useful for you. See you soon. ;)
